GETTING READY FOR NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION

What Should I Bring to Student Orientation?

New Student Orientation gives you the opportunity to take care of any unfinished business that impacts your admission to the college, financial aid, or advising sessions. Any documents that the college has requested should be brought with you to orientation.

What Will Happen at Student Orientation?

New Student Orientation is LeMoyne-Owen College’s official undergraduate student orientation program. All new students and incoming first-year students are required to register for and attend a New Student Orientation session.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What do I need to bring to New Student Orientation?

New Student Orientation allows you to receive a preview of your college experience; that includes living on campus. You will need to bring any items needed for an overnight stay away from home. That includes bed linen, a change of clothes, shower and toiletry items, and any items you traditionally need on a daily basis when you are away from home. In addition, any items you have not submitted to the Admissions Office can be brought with you to New Student Orientation. This includes final transcript(s), immunization records, etc. 

Can I come to more than one session of New Student Orientation Session?

You will only need to attend one New Student Orientation Session

If I am entering into the Accelerated Studies for Adults and Professionals Program (ASAP), am I required to stay overnight?

All ASAP and/or adult learners should contact the Office of Admissions for additional information regarding New Student Orientation.

If I am a commuter student, can I still stay for the overnight orientation?

Yes, you can! We hope by the end of the session, you choose residential living for your college experience!

What time should I arrive for New Student Orientation?

Check in for New Student Orientation begins at 8AM. 

What time will New Student Orientation end?

New Student Orientation ends at 3PM the following day.

If I miss my scheduled orientation can I reschedule?

Yes, rescheduling New Student Orientation can be done online. 

What should I wear?

All participants should wear comfortable yet college appropriate attire.

Can I bring admissions or financial aid documents?

Yes, Admissions will collect all documents during check in. Please ensure that all documents are sealed.

Can my parent(s) attend or stay overnight?

There will be a parent session, however parents are not allowed to stay overnight on campus.
