LeMoyne-Owen College Names William B. Anderson as Athletic Director

Memphis-based HBCU welcomes championship-winning coach and alumnus to top athletic leadership position

Memphis, TN – William Anderson has been selected as athletic director for LeMoyne-Owen College. Anderson brings 20 years of coaching and mentoring experience at the collegiate level, including most recently serving as Head Men’s Basketball Coach and as athletic director previously for five years.

Anderson has a wealth of athletic and community accomplishments including securing SIAC and AAU championships, implementing key strategies to boost student-athlete academics at LOC and serving as a founding board member of the Jerry C. Johnson Foundation.

“We are excited about the future of our athletics department with Anderson at the helm,” says LOC President Dr. Vernell Bennett-Fairs. “His extensive knowledge, dedication to student development and love for his alma mater make him a perfect fit for the College. We’re happy to have him home.”

Anderson began his new role on July 19 after the retirement of athletic director Clint Jackson.
