LeMoyne-Owen College and the Kroger Co. Partner for the Thanksgiving Dinner ‘Pantry Pop-Up’ to Benefit Families for LOC Day

Families can register for onsite food pick-up on campus, Friday, November 19, 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Memphis, Tenn. – LeMoyne-Owen College has partnered with Kroger Delta Division for LOC (Loving Our Community) Day, to host a Thanksgiving Dinner “Pop-Up Pantry” on Friday, November 19.

Food boxes with standard items for Thanksgiving dinner will be available to families of the Boys and Girls Club of Memphis and the community free of charge. Pick-up will take place in the LOC Resident Hall parking lot, 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.

“We’re excited to have Kroger as our partner for our second installment of LOC Day,” says Dr. Vernell Bennett-Fairs, LOC president. “We’ve made it a priority to serve the community that has supported us throughout the years, especially during the Thanksgiving holiday when many families are in need.”

“Kroger’s African American Associate Resource Group is proud to partner with LeMoyne-Owen College to host a Pop-Up Pantry to support families during Thanksgiving,” says Victor Smith, Kroger Delta Division president. “Our purpose is to feed the human spirit, and we believe this is a great way to support families through Kroger’s Zero Hunger Zero Waste Initiative.”
