Celebrate, Commemorate, ContemplateJoin LeMoyne-Owen College to witness and explore the significance of the Inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States on January 20, 2009. The election of Barack Obama is an event of singular historic importance. This Inauguration Day is one of those times we will always remember. It is right that LeMoyne-Owen community joins together to observe the occasion, to view the ceremonies and to explore the meaning of the day. All classes will meet to take a special approach focusing on the Inauguration, and the entire College will watch the proceedings at sites throughout the campus, followed by discussion groups examining the implications of an African American presidency.
