BORROWING POLICIES AND REGULATIONS
A Library Card and College I.D. are required to use library resources.
A fee of $5.00 will be imposed for reissuing a card. Borrowers from
Memphis area academic libraries must bring a valid I.D. issued by their
institution; a borrower user card will be issued by the LOC library
staff. Loan periods are as follows: books and materials from the
general collection-four weeks (28 days); books from the Sweeney
Collection-one week (7 days) and CD's and videos-two nights for $1.00
each. The borrower must be present with the library card and the
library material to check out the item again. Reference materials and
periodicals are library use only. Fines vary: all circulating
books-$.25 each day; overnight reserves-$.50 cents for the first
hour/$.25 each succeeding hour; and CD's and videos-$1.00 per day each.
INTER-LIBRARY LOAN
Our library cooperates with other United States libraries in
inter-library loan (ILL) that is a service that borrows library
materials that are not available in the Hollis F. Price Library.
Students, faculty and staff working on special projects may request
books or photocopies of articles. Photocopy requests are subject to
copyright restrictions. The institution supplying the material sets the
ILL periods and other restrictions on use. Requests may be made by
consulting the librarian. The borrower should be prepared to pay for
postage, borrowing fee, if required, and photocopying of the material.
The request forms and the library materials must be retrieved from and
returned to the Circulation/Reference Desk.
COURSE RESERVE MATERIALS
At the request of faculty, reserve materials are kept at the
Circulation Desk to be read as class assignments. Some items may be
checked out for overnight use three hours before closing and must be
returned by 8:30 a.m. the following morning. Reserve materials are
limited to library use only for two-hour time periods.
