LOC contributes to blood need  

MEMPHIS, TN (November 13, 2008)
Every two seconds, someone needs blood in America and because of this  LOC students and faculty pulled up their sleeves on Wednesday, November 5, to help save at least 114 lives.

The Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences and the Meharry HBCU Wellness Program joined forces with the American Red Cross to sponsor the LOC Annual Campus-Wide Blood Drive in the Student Center.



“We are excited to see that the students and faculty were eager to give blood and do their part in saving lives,” Tracey Millbrook said. Millbrook serves as the Interim Campus Coordinator of the Meharry HBCU Wellness Program and is one of the coordinators of the annual event.

“We want to make sure that LeMoyne continues to play an active role in the community by assisting the Red Cross whenever we are needed.”

The Red Cross collected 38 pints of blood at the event.
