Grant to Strengthen K-8 Math Instruction in Tennessee
Tennessee State University and ETS to Partner on Project
Tennessee
State University (TSU) and Educational Testing Services (ETS) have been awarded funding to work with Historically Black
Colleges, including LeMoyne-Owen College, and Universities (HBCUs)
in Tennessee to improve elementary and middle school teaching and learning of
mathematics. The goal of this project is to develop educational models
that will not only help improve math proficiency in Tennessee’s K-8 schools, but potentially across the nation. (Read More)
LeMoyne-Owen College was selected along with its partner
school, Cummings Elementary and West Elementary and Middle schools, to participate in this project. The major focus is on
professional development, leadership development, ongoing assessment of
students through the ETS Math Challenges, and establishing professional
learning community processes in the partner schools. |
