SACSCOC COMPLIANCE AND QEP

Welcome to our SACSCOC site. This site presents the College’s response to The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges requirements as detailed in The Principles of Accreditation: Foundations for Quality Enhancement.

The reaffirmation process consists of two phases. In phase one, the College must demonstrate compliance with a number of standards required by SACSCOC (e.g., ongoing planning and assessment at all levels, appropriate faculty qualifications, fiscal soundness, appropriate governance structures). The report on this phase, called the Compliance Certification, was submitted to SACSCOC on March 15, 2012.

Phase two of the reaffirmation is the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). The QEP is a new feature of the SACSCOC process and provides an opportunity for LeMoyne-Owen College to “enhance overall institutional quality and effectiveness by focusing on an issue important to improving student learning.” Through a series of campus-wide discussions, surveys and focus groups, the College identified M.A.G.I.C.: Moving a Generation in Communication” as our QEP theme.
