The Center for Urban Leadership and Social Justice is one of three centers approved by the Board of Trustees and included in the College’s Strategic Transformation Plan. The foundational concept of the Center, which is housed in the Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences, is servant leadership – leading through self-sacrifice and attending to the needs of others over self.
The Center combines curriculum, applied research, and civic responsibility. Some of our current projects include: Partnership for Asthma Trigger-Free Homes (PATH), the LeMoyne Owen/Meharry Medical College HBCU Wellness Project, Consortium for Health Education, Economic Empowerment and Research (CHEER), and LeMoyne-Owen College Community Partnership.
