BIOGRAPHY: Coach William Anderson

William Anderson has served as the Women's Head Basketball Coach at The  LeMoyne-Owen College since 2000. A native Memphian, Coach Anderson was an All-State and All Shelby-Metro tight end at Kirby High School as well as a standout basketball forward at The LeMoyne-Owen College while earning his bachelors degree in Social Science.

Coach Anderson has been able to recruit young men and women student-athletes with talent on the court as well as in the classroom to The LeMoyne-Owen College.  In the past eight seasons, 20 student-athletes have made the All SIAC team including one being named MVP, one freshman of the year, one NCAA Division II All American, and four named to the SIAC All Academic Team.  

During his tenure, 85 percent of the student-athletes, under his supervision, have earned their degrees and Coach Anderson was named the 2006 SIAC Coach Of The Year. Through his professional affiliations, Coach Anderson has had the opportunity to work with over 150 athletes who have continued their careers at the collegiate level and 20 athletes who have played in the NBA. 

Coach Anderson also helped coach the USA Men’s Basketball Youth Development Team to a gold medal finish in a 2005 international competition.
