Garry Coleman has been an active coach as a volunteer assistant Men/Women Tennis
Coach at LeMoyne-Owen College since fall-2000. Coach Coleman became the Interim Head Men/Women Tennis Coach @ LOC in fall-2008. He is a native Memphian and
started playing tennis after graduation from LOC in 1973 as LOC did not have
tennis at that time. He has won numerous awards as a player including Bronze &
Silver Medals at the Sr Olympics.
He believes that tennis unlike other sports is
a lifetime sport and still competes today. He is poised to move the LOC Tennis
Program higher and his late start ties into his coaching philosophy of "NEVER
GIVE UP" as he has proven that you can come from behind and be successful.
He is married to Mary Coleman and they have 3 children, Tamika, Misty, and
Christopher.
